Who is Dr Liz Beavis?
An enthusiastic Non-Executive Director and industry leader with extensive governance, risk, and strategic expertise. Currently serving on the board of a community not-for-profit and co-chairing a national industry directorate, with a background in senior leadership and technical roles across ASX-listed companies, state government-owned corporations, and private enterprises in the Australian power generation and renewable energy sectors.
Recognized for a collaborative leadership approach, fostering strong stakeholder relationships to drive strategic outcomes. Passionate advocate for renewable energy and diversity, empowering women through mentorship and industry engagement. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage complex operations and large P&Ls, and navigate organizational growth through strategic planning and risk management.
Liz Beavis began her career with a PhD in Coal Gasification at CSIRO, driven by the belief that clean coal could address future climate and energy challenges. Over a decade in the thermal power industry, she held site-based and corporate operational roles, managing carbon emissions, optimizing energy efficiency, and overseeing asset management. Recognizing the evolving energy landscape, Liz transitioned into renewable energy, taking on her first role in the sector as a wind farm site manager, where she applied her expertise to sustainable energy solutions.
